Postcards from afar

Suzanne Adler's Smith Clove Elementary first-graders show off their successful postcard collection effort, tying into their social studies work about the United States - including the states and their capitals, ELA writing skills and non-fiction research project work. Each year, Adler asks parents and friends of the class to reach out to their friends and families in other states to send the class a postcard from a state they are visiting or living in. The class received 250 postcards and this is the first year in the 15 years Adler has done this project that the class has received postcards from all 50 states.
