Orange County Cares to host public meeting series

Orange County Cares is sponsoring public meetings to discuss the impacts of Trump administration policies in Orange County.

Founded in January 2025, Orange County Cares includes hundreds of county residents who are studying actual and expected impacts on our economy, public health, education, immigration, housing, the environment, the arts and other areas of social life.

“It is one thing to speak out about broad national impacts or to file lawsuits against Trump policies,” said Michael Sussman, the group’s convener. “We have chosen another path—to study the policy changes and to report to our communities their likely impacts and what can be done to lessen people’s pain. We invite all who want to share their experiences and to better understand how these retrenchments and retreats will affect them to our meetings and to discuss how we can at once prepare for and fight back against these policies and their impacts.”

Orange County Cares invites the general public to these meetings:

Middletown Senior Center (62 W. Main St. #70, Middletown, NY, 10940) on May 8 at 7 p.m. Presenting Committees: Public Health, Immigration, Education, Diversity-Women, Labor.

Calvary Presbyterian Church (120 South St., Newburgh NY, 12550) on May 13 at 7:00 p.m. Presenting Committees: Public Health, Immigration, Education, Diversity-Women, Labor.
