Nora Gmelch earns her Girl Scout Gold Award

    — Nora Gmelch, a Woodbury Girl Scout in Troop 789 and a senior at Monroe-Woodbury High School, has earned her Gold Award for the project entitled Educational and Botanical Enhancements for the Visitor Access Path at Black Rock Forest.
    Nora's objective was to create awareness of nature on the new accessible trail.
    She planted and photographed native plants, created seasonal plant guides and games and led many trail events.

    Nora thanks the staff at Black Rock Forest, her family and her troop for their support.
    The award ceremony, for all Gold Award recipients from Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson, was held on March 9 at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel.
