When presidential candidate Joe Biden announced his plan for childcare and early childhood education, he gave his speech in his home state of Delaware.
The Biden campaign contacted Delaware’s 2020 State Teacher of the year, 2011 Monroe-Woodbury graduate Rebecca Vitelli, to appear on stage with Biden during his speech given at Vitelli’s school in New Castle, Delaware.
Vitelli has been an outspoken advocate for the funding of early childhood education in all 50 states.
Both Biden and Vitelli are graduates of the University of Delaware.
She is the daughter of Barbara and Larry Vitelli of Monroe.
