Neuhaus visits O’Toole’s Pub in Monroe as part of 'Open for Business' initiative

MONROE — Orange County Executive Steven M. Neuhaus visited O’Toole’s Pub in the Village of Monroe on Thursday as part of his “Open for Business” tour.
Neuhaus was joined at the event by acting Monroe Town Councilman Tony Cardone.
Tommy and Christine O’Toole opened O’Toole’s Pub last month at 15 Stage Road in the Village of Monroe. The establishment was formerly the Brazen Head Pub.
“Tommy and Christine have made an important investment into the community by renovating and opening O’Toole’s,” Neuhaus said. “I know this business means a lot to them because they both grew up in Orange County and are Monroe residents. Tommy and Christine have a tremendous amount of energy and enthusiasm, which I’m sure that will help make O’Toole’s a success.”
Tommy O’Toole, 33, is a graduate of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and served as a U.S. Navy Reservist from 2006-2013. He works as a ship sale broker in Teaneck, N.J.
Christine O’Toole will be in charge of day-to-day operations at O’Toole’s, which they describe as a “neighborhood” pub.
Runs in the family
Tommy and Christine O’Toole were inspired to open the tavern by their family’s history in the restaurant business. Both of Christine’s grandfathers owned and operated eateries in Brooklyn. Tommy’s family runs a restaurant in Staten Island.“Monroe is a wonderful place to live and to start a business,” Tommy O’Toole said. “We appreciate that County Executive Neuhaus has given us this opportunity to showcase O’Toole’s Pub. His support means a lot to all of us. We hope to be a part of the community for many years and look forward to giving back to Orange County.”
