The Empire Diner on Route 17M in Monroe celebrated its grand opening on Monday, June 13. The Chamber of Commerce welcomed David Wenger, the new owner, to town and hosted a ceremonial ribbon-cutting. There were approximately 75 people in attendance, including several Board of Directors from the Chamber of Commerce, Monroe Mayor James Purcell, Assemblyman Karl Brabenec (98th District) and Collin Schmitt, the Republican candidate in the 99th Assembly District. "We are excited to be in the heart of Monroe," Wenger said, "and look forward to serving the community for many years to come."
