The Village of Monroe is calling all skilled and unskilled volunteers to help build a playground at the Airplane Park.

Construction of the new, all-inclusive playground at Airplane Park will resume Monday, May 5, through Thursday, May 8.

Originally scheduled for completion earlier this month, the build was briefly paused due to weather delays.

“Thanks to the incredible support and enthusiasm of our volunteers and partners, we are ready to finish what we started — and we need your help to bring it across the finish line,” village officials in a statement. “We are calling on community volunteers to join us next week to help complete the playground. No professional experience is needed — just a willingness to lend a hand and be part of something meaningful. Whether you’re an individual, a business, or part of a civic group or organization, your time and energy will make a lasting impact for families across Monroe.

“The project, in partnership with Play by Design, will deliver a fully ADA-accessible playground that celebrates Monroe’s unique history while creating a space where all children can play, connect and thrive.”
