Monroe. Tradition. Respect. Honor

| 30 May 2021 | 01:17

On Saturday, May 29, members of BSA Troop 440 in Monroe joined with veterans from the American Legion Post 488 to place 260 American flags on the graves of veterans at the Monroe Veterans Cemetery on Route 17M. This is an annual tradition that members of Troop 440 participate in to show respect to the veterans of the armed forces buried here and to honor their country. The old flags from last year also were removed from the graves, the posts broken down and they will be retired in a future ceremony by the American Legion Post 488.
