Monroe: The work continues at Airplane Park and your help is needed

The construction of the new, all-inclusive playground at Airplane Park on Millpond Parkway will resume Monday, May 5, through Thursday, May 8.
Originally scheduled for completion earlier this month, the build was paused due to weather delays.
Thanks to the support and enthusiasm of our volunteers and partners, the village is ready to finish what was started.
“We are calling on community volunteers to join us next week to help complete the playground,” village officials said in their quest for volunteers. “No professional experience is needed — just a willingness to lend a hand and be part of something meaningful. Whether you’re an individual, a business, or part of a civic group or organization, your time and energy will make a lasting impact for families across Monroe.
“Together,” village officials added, “we are building more than a playground — we’re building community.”
The project, in partnership with Play by Design, will deliver a fully ADA-accessible playground that celebrates Monroe’s unique history while creating a space where all children can play, connect and thrive.
There are three volunteer build shifts each day: 8 a.m. to noon; 12:30 to 4:30 p.m.; 5 to 8 p.m.
