Monroe. Monroe Free Library continues its Year of the Arts

| 20 Jan 2023 | 02:50

Each month the Monroe Free Library highlights a different art and provides a venue for the community to interact while sparking support for local artists as part of its Year of the Arts, a themed series of programs and services that began in July 2022 and continues through June 2023.

MFL celebrated the art of dance, cinema, music, photography, cinema and cooking thus far. The library is happy to announce what is in store for the months of February, March and April. Coming up MFL will provide a full calendar of events dedicated to the art of poetry, painting and floral design. Adults and children can register for events and programs that most interest them on the Monroe Free Library website.

The goal of the Year of the Arts is to expose patrons to new arts, provide a platform for entertainment and community discussion, and channel enthusiasm for the arts. MFL aims to provide the community with programs that give hands-on experience with that month’s art. Each art is fully supported each month.

The Monroe Free Library provides a venue for a program, exhibition, or performance given by a professional artist. This includes an informational package that joins our books, databases, and free online resources into a cohesive collection that will foster art appreciation and creation.

Patrons with questions about the Year of the Arts or other programs and services are encouraged to call the library at (845) 783-4411.
