CENTRAL VALLEY — On Friday morning, Oct. 5, at Monroe Woodbury High School, the Crusaders kicked off their Homecoming weekend with a senior picnic and a pep rally in preparation for their football game against the Washingtonville Wizards.
Seniors dressed in purple and dined on hot dogs and hamburgers as they gathered in groups, socialized and played games on the fields before the Pep rally began.
About 12:30 p.m., the juniors, sophomores and freshmen joined the senior class in the bleachers and the rally began.
High School Principal John Kaste got the rally started and the seniors in the school choir sang before handing it off to the student body council who gave recognition to all the fall sport teams and their captains. The seniors on the football team and the cheerleading were introduced on the football field before the cheerleaders preformed an amazing show of spirt, tumbling and acrobatics.
Next students from each grade and their teachers competed in the three-legged race, water balloon toss and the dizzy bat race.
The drum line put on an amazing show of sound and sight followed by the football team's crazy skit. The Pep rally had everybody pumped up for the big football to be played later.
