Harriman woman named administrator at Crystal Run Ambulatory Surgery Center

MIDDLETOWN — Raquel Rios (Ortiz) has been named administrator of Crystal Run Ambulatory Surgery Center of Middletown, where she will be responsible for the daily operations of the center as well as lead all mprovement efforts in quality and patient safety, oversee regulatory compliance and monitor patient access and satisfaction.

Rios, a resident of Harrimam, brings to her new position more than 17 years of health care experience, including 12 years at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City where she first served as quality improvement coordinator and most recently served as the director, ambulatory services and process improvement.

Rios earned her bachelor’s degree in health care administration as well as her master’s degree in health services administration from Iona College in New Rochelle. She also holds several certifications including practical nursing and advanced health care leadership.

“Her extensive experience in quality improvement, Joint Commission standards and procedures and process improvement are a true asset and will facilitate the center’s continual pursuit of providing only the highest quality patient care,” Dr. Michelle A. Koury, the center’s executive director, said in the press release announcing the appointment.
