Communion cups

Thirty-three second-graders about to receive their First Holy Communion at St. Anastasia Church in Harriman were recently treated to a creative way to understand the sacrament. With the help of potter, Ray Boswell, from Bostree’s in Sugar Loaf, the children learned about the art of pottery and its symbolism. The children are going to create their own pottery cup for the May ceremony. Pictured here are Ray Boswell, the Rev. Michael Keane and Sister Mary Rose Mullervy with second-graders Amanda Palmer (left) and Erin Schoeph.
