Graduations Matthew Perlstein of Highland Mills graduated Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude from the University of Maryland, College Park, with a bachelor of science degree in physiology and neurobiology He will be attending SUNY Upstate College of Medicine.

He was a 2008 graduate of Monroe-Woodbury High School.

Bobby Leiser, a 2005 graduate of Monroe-Woodbury High School, has received a bachelor of science degree in business management from Fitchburg State University in Massachusetts on May 19 with honors. He is the son of Robert & Michele Leiser of Monroe.

Walter Hickey from Harriman has graduated with a bachelor of science degree from the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Va.

Maxie S. Kalish of Highland Mills has earned a master’s of science degree in professional communication from Clark University in Worcester, Mass.

Linda C. Zodda-Vasquez of Monroe received a bachelor of fine arts degree in fashion design, minoring in business, from Cazenovia College in central New York. Zodda-Vasquez is a member of The Junior 1824 Society.

The following students graduated from Dominican College in Orangeburg during commencement on May 20:

Dean’s list Evan Froehlich of Monroe was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester 2012 from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, N.J. To qualify students must have a minimum grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

Evan will be a sophomore in the fall, majoring in finance and accounting.

Daniel Fugazot of Highland Mills has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2012 semester at SUNY Cortland. Daniel is an elementary education major.

Margaret Guzman of Highland Mills, a junior archaeology major, was named to Lycoming College’s Dean’s List for the spring semester.

Students make the dean’s list if they complete at least 12 semester hours and earn a minimum grade point average of 3.50 for the semester.

Matthew McCarron from Highland Mills was named to the dean’s list for fall 2011 and spring 2012 semesters at New York City University of Technology in Brooklyn. A freshman, he also was nominated to the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.

Matthew is the son of Michael and Debra McCarron

Lauren Cooke, an English literature and communications major from Highland Mills, was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2012 semester at Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia

Students are named to the dean’s list if they have achieved a G.P.A of 3.6 or higher.

Danielle D. Burton of Monroe has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 1012 semester at Western New England University in Springfield, Mass. Burton is a graduating senior majoring in secondary education-mathematical sciences.

Daniel Monahan of Monroe has been named to the president’s list for the spring 2012 semester at Western New England in Springfield, Mass. Monahan is a junior majoring in finance.

Students are named to the president’s list for achieving a semester grade point average of 3.80 or higher.

Honors, awards, program Hank Adams of Highland Mills has received the SUNY Delhi Alumni Association’s highest honor, the Distinguished Alumni Award. This award honors those who have made a dedicated, continued and outstanding contribution to their profession, community and SUNY Delhi.

Adams is vice president of Peter Kiewit & Sons, a Park Ridge, N.J., company that provides construction services for government, transportation, power, water and other major sectors throughout North America.

A 1977 construction technology graduate, he serves on SUNY Delhi’s Construction Management Advisory Council and his generosity has made it possible for Delhi students to participate in the Associated Schools of Construction Design-Build regional competitions.
