College notes

Graduations Gabi Kanterman, a 2007 graduate of Monroe-Woodbury High School, has earned a master of science degree in adapted physical education from Texas Womans University. Gabi graduated with honors, Phi Kappa Phi, ranking in the top 10 percent of her class. She passed the national APENS certification exam and has received certifications in Texas and New York for grades K through 12. Gabi has just accepted a position as an adapted physical education teacher in the Grapevine Colleyville school district in Texas.
Vincent Dapolito graduated summa cum laude from Quinnipiac University in Connecticut on May 20 with a 4.0 GPA and a bachelor of arts degree in broadcast journalism. He was also the recipient of the Presidents Scholarship Award and the Alumni Affairs Academic Achievement Award for the School of Communications for attaining the highest scholastic standing in the graduating class of 2012. He is a resident of Harriman and is 2008 graduate of Monroe-Woodbury High School.
Jimmy Demarco of Monroe has graduated from Bowling Green State University in Ohio with bachelor of arts degree.
Christopher J. Longo of Monroe graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in communication during the 142nd commencement at McDaniel College in Westminister, Maryland.
Christian Brodala of Monroe graduated from Hofstra University on May 20 with a BBA in marketing.
Alison B. Greenberg of Monroe received a bachelor of science degree in elementary education K-6 within the College of Education and Social Services during May commencement ceremonies at the University of Vermont in Burlington.
Lisa Morgillo, a 2008 graduate of Monroe-Woodbury High School, has been graduated from Boston University receiving a bachelor of arts in political science and English. She will attend Hofstra Law School on Long Island in the fall. Lisa is daughter of Chris and Mike Morgillo of Monroe.
Alex Hieronymi, son of Michelle and Robert Hieronymi of Monroe, graduated with honors from Stevens Institute of Technology on May 24, earning a bachelor of science degree in cyber security with a cumulative GPA of 3.5. He also received the colleges Senior Design Award for Computer Science, maintained deans list honors, held a three-year corporate internship and shared his talents by volunteering with charitable organizations. Alex is a graduate of Don Bosco Prep High School. He plans to pursue a career in cyber security.
Holly Ann King of Greenwood Lake graduated summa cum laude from the Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics at the University of Delaware in Newark, Del. Holly was also honored for having the top grade point average in the graduating class of 2012 at he University. Her parents are Michael and Elizabeth King.

Erik James Kopping of Monroe was awarded a bachelor of science degree.
Deans list Laura Bakst, a rising sophomore at Cornell University, made the deans list for the spring 2012 semester with a 4.0 GPA. The resident of Highland Mills is majoring in industrial and labor relations.
Jessica Gregory of Monroe was named to the deans list for the winter quarter of 2012 at DePaul University in Chicago. In order to qualify for the Deans List at DePaul, students must earn above a 3.0 grade point average on a four point scale.
