    Provost’s list
    Danica Bermudez- Mclaud of Monroe was named to the SUNY Oneonta Provost’s List for the spring 2014 semester.

    Of the more than 5,800 undergraduates enrolled at the college, 143 qualified for the spring 2014 Provost’s List by earning a perfect GPA while carrying a course load of at least 12 semester hours.

    Dean’s list
    Noreen Goldberg of Tuxedo Park, a music major, has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2014 semester at Westminster Choir College of Rider University.


    Ryan Staudle of Highland Mills has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2014 semester at Hartwick College in Oneonta.

    He is the son of Daniel and Alana Staudle. Staudle majored in psychology.

    Inclusion on Hartwick’s Dean List is an indication of excellent academic work, including the completion of a full course load with at least a 3.5 grade point average based on a 4.0 scale.


    Tyler A. Wilson of Monroe was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Keystone College in La Plume, Pa.

    Full-time students who complete 12 credits and achieve a grade point average of 3.70-3.99 are named to the dean’s list.


    Lauren Russo of Monroe has been named to the spring 2014 dean’s list at The College of New Jersey. To qualify, students must have earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

    Lauren is a senior enrolled in the School of Humanities & Social Sciences, majoring in psychology.


    Brooke Hershfield of Monroe, a 2013 Monroe-Woodbury graduate, was named to the Dean’s List at SUNY-Binghamton for the spring 2014 semester with a 3.8 GPA.


    Sophie Shachter of Central Valley has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2014 semester at Binghamton University.

    To qualify, students must attain a GPA of at least 3.5.

    A 2010 graduate of Monroe-Woodbury High School, Shachter is the daughter of Gary and Marjorie Schachter.


    Brandon Sinclair, a Monroe-Woodbury graduate from Central Valley, was named to the Dean’s list for the fall 2013 and spring 2014 semesters at Hofstra University. He is a mechanical engineering major, with a minor in mathematics, in the Honors College at Hofstra University and has accepted a position as a resident advisor.


    Deanna Alvarado of Monroe was named to the dean's list for the spring 2014 semester at Alfred State SUNY College of Technology with a GPA of 4.0.


    Shannon Kincade of Monroe was named to the dean's list for the spring 2014 semester at Alfred State SUNY College of Technology.

    To qualify, a student must main a GPA of 3.5 or better.

    Graduations
    Erin McGovern graduated magna cum laude from Manhattan College with a degree in civil engineering. She is the daughter of Michael and Lynn McGovern of Monroe.


    Tory Olsen of Monroe has graduated magna cum laude from the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor of Science degree in Textile Fashion Merchandising and Design with a minor in Psychology.

    Students who received the honor of magna cum laude graduated with a GPA of at least 3.50.


    Kathryn Lentini of Monroe graduated magna cum laude from SUNY Potsdam with a bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Middle/Secondary Mathematics Education.


    Lauren Russo, a 2010 graduate of Monroe-Woodbury High School, has graduated from The College of New Jersey with a bachelor of arts in psychology.

    Jessica Simmons of Monroe has graduated from SUNY Orange with a degree in criminal justice.

    A graduate of Monroe-Woodbury High School, Jessica is the daughter of Scott and Cyndee Simmons.

    Honors, programs, awards

    Colleen Bennett of Monroe was among the 20 University of Scranton graduates, including 17 members of the University’s class of 2014, who committed to long-term service projects with nonprofit organizations and underserved populations internationally and in states throughout the country. Their service begins as early as June and includes programs run by Teach for America and the Jesuit Volunteer Corp.

    Bennett, a member of the Jesuit university’s class of 2014, will serve with Volunteers International for Development Education & Solidarity.


    Nicholas R. Staiano of Monroe recently completed his graduate studies at SUNY Oswego in accounting, earning a master of business administration.
