Assemblyman Colin J. Schmitt and colleagues from the New York Conference of Italian-American State Legislators are sponsoring scholarships for residents of New York State who are current college students or high school seniors entering college.
Candidates who wish to apply should have a grade point average of 85 or higher, have a history of good conduct, and reflect dedication and commitment to pursuing and completing a degree in higher education.
Applicants should also demonstrate a financial need for tuition assistance and be active members of the community through community service and other extracurricular activities. Students do not need to be of Italian heritage in order to apply.
If you live in the 99th Assembly District and qualify, apply through the conference’s website: www.nyiacsl.org/scholarships.
Application deadline is March 19.
