Chester. Chabad Teens bring Thanksgiving joy

| 01 Dec 2020 | 01:15

The Chabad Teen group used their talents and warmth to bring joy to many community members for Thanksgiving.

CTeen is organized by Rabbi Pesach and Chana Burston of Chabad of Orange County. Teens from throughout Orange County baked pumpkin pies and beer bread to bring extra joy to many in the County at the CTeen “Pies of Thanks Thanksgiving Event” at the Chabad Center in Chester.

.“The teens were enthusiastic to plan and participate in this event,” said Chana Burston. “It feels extra good to give, especially when so many people are experiencing extra challenges due to the pandemic.”

The pies and breads were wrapped with cards of good wishes, and delivered to members of the community.

Thank you

Recipients wrote notes upon receiving the packages:

From a Monroe resident: “Please thank the CTeen group for the delicious goodies. It’s nice to know that at a time when we can’t celebrate the holidays with extended family we are surrounded and supported by our Chabad family. Happy Thanksgiving.”

From another Monroe resident: “Thank you for your kindness especially through these Covid times. Love you guys! What a wonderful club you have! These CTeens are learning such wonderful values that will be instilled in them for the rest of their lives!”

From a Goshen resident: “Everything was just delicious! The pumpkin pies were perfect and hit the spot for me as I am recovering from surgery.”

From a Warwick resident: “Thank you for the yummy addition to our Thanksgiving dinner. More importantly, thank you for reminding me during this lonely time that I have a community who is thinking about me.”

Thank you to the Schwartz and Berman family and Community Foundation for Orange and Sullivan for sponsorship of this special event.
