Why are you running for mayor?

I am honored to be mayor of the Village of Monroe. I have brought over the past eight years a consistent message of “thoughtful and lawful” and apply it in every aspect of our work as members of the board of trustees.

I want to continue our models of community quality of life for all residents, the financial stability over the past eight years respecting and protecting every dollar that comes in and how it is spent. Our record speaks for itself, over the past 8 years we have maintained our increases from 0% to an average of 1% year over year without diminishing any of our services to our residents and our commercial property owners.

I want to continue with that very important and critical work.

What are the top three things you aim to accomplish if elected?

A.The continuation of our street and sidewalk reclamation work as per our scheduled zones .

B. The continuation of our water infrastructure projects. We are two years out on a full water main replacement program, started when I became mayor.

My board under my leadership has done great work.

C. The continuation of our Crane Park renovation project that our residents participated in and helped design with. It’s a multi-year project that should make every resident feel very proud and should take great pleasure in walking the ponds and watching thousands of children playing in our new fully compliant and ADA accessible Airplane Park, which we hope to complete with bathrooms and easier access parking.

Why are you the best candidate for this position?

I am the best candidate for this position as mayor as I understand the breadth of working with everyone, listening to and communicating with our residents and property owners on the many ideas and concerns they have.

I understand very well the financials to run this village, from my construction background to financial planning, to sit and work with my employees on the applications of their respective positions and engage them to provide the best practices to our residents and businesses.
