Brett Broge is new chair of Orange County Democratic Committee

GOSHEN — The Orange County Democratic Committee has chosen Goshen attorney Brett Broge to be the party’s new chair to succeed Jonathan Jacobson.

Jacobson did not run for re-election this year after leading the party committee for 21 of the last 25 years. At a reorganization convention in Wallkill on Sept. 23, Broge was the unanimous choice of the committee, as was his slate of officers (see sidebar).

In accepting the position, Broge thanked Jacobson for his many years of service to the county party and sounded a theme of unity in support of Democratic candidates.
