Alan Zuckerman assumes the title of CEO of Verticon Ltd.

MONROE — Alan Zuckerman, the co-president of Verticon Ltd. in Monroe, has assumed the additional title of chief executive officer.
The move comes after the retirement of his brother Irving Zuckerman. The Zuckerman brothers founded Verticon in 1993 and served as co-presidents for the last 24 years. Prior to Verticon, they were managing partners at Zuckerman Contractors, the family firm.
“The highlight of my career with Verticon has been the pleasure of working with my brother Alan as a partner,” said Irving Zuckerman. “The best thing has been owning our company as a third generation firm. I believe that shows business continuity in the communities we work in and reinforces our outstanding reputation.”
Alan Zuckerman praised his brother’s tenure at the company.
“The projects he has overseen have greatly advanced the quality of life in the communities in which they are located,” he said.
All aspects of construction industry Since 1973, Zuckerman has been a resource to the region’s top planners, to several economic development organizations and in mid-Hudson region communities.
Zuckerman has worked in every aspect of the construction industry, from project conception through to the issuance of certificates of occupancy. His experience also includes deal structure, transaction analysis and banking presentations during the pre-construction phase.
He is heavily involved in Verticon’s construction management and general construction projects as well as the firm’s estimating team and value engineering services. Zuckerman is also responsible for updating the estimating and project management team on the use of Verticon’s project management systems. Along with the estimating team, he provides conceptual and preliminary cost studies for clients.
Community involvementZuckerman’s business, community and civic involvement includes: the Sullivan County Partnership: Board of Directors; chairman of the Sullivan County Shovel-ready Site Committee; a member of the Council of Industry, Alliance for Balanced Growth, the U.S. Building Council, and the Manufacturers Association of the Hudson Valley.
Zuckerman’s son Justin and Irving Zukerman’s daughter Ashley also work for the company, making it a four generation family business.
ClientsVerticon’s recent projects include a new building for Cornerstone Family Health, a new building for Metallized Carbon Corp., a bus garage for the Wappingers School District, three new buildings for Mid-State Lumber and the North American Toner manufacturing headquarters for Konica Minolta.
Other clients include Satin Fine Foods, Sullivan County Community College, Horizon Medical Group and the South Orange Family YMCA.
Irving Zuckerman also assisted Straus News evaluate possible sites when the newspaper company was looking to relocate from leased offices in Monroe to its own building on West Avenue in Chester.
Once Straus News acquired the property, Verticon handled the construction to retrofit the building to suit its needs.
