State Sen. William J. Larkin Jr., R-C-Cornwall-on-Hudson, meets in his Albany office with staff of the Monroe Free Library on Library Lobby Day. Representatives from libraries across the state were in Albany to lobby their legislators to increase aid in the state budget for libraries and library systems, using the 2000 Census, instead of the 1990 figures. Using the latest census figures would result in an additional $147,000 to the Ramapo Catskill Library System, which provides help to Monroe and other libraries within its system, McIntosh said.
