MONROE-The Friends of the Monroe Free Library are seeking volunteers to phone registered voters to remind them of the upcoming library budget referendum on Election Day. Calls will be made from Friday, Nov. 4 to Monday, Nov. 7, with Election Day falling this year on Tuesday, Nov. 8. Volunteers choose their own hours and call from home during this four day period, speaking from a short script for ease of calling. “We are asking for an increase of less than 35¢ per $1,000 of assessed property value,” said Library Director Marilyn McIntosh. “Our volunteers are a vital factor in our tradition of fiscal responsibility.” Interested volunteers can stop by the library at 44 Millpond Parkway for a calling list. For more information, call 783-4411.
