Leonard on what's next for Monroe
To the editor: This election victory is dedicated to my mom and I thank our supporters. We will continue to work for all the people of Monroe. After the Public Hearing on the Budget last week, I reviewed some items for completion this year and goals for the Town for next year. For now we need to complete the bidding for two Water District Projects (#8 and #12), hold the public hearings for and take action on the local laws regarding Volunteer Tax Exemptions and Property Maintenance. We must also continue negotiating the landfill closure with the new DEC attorney both this year and next and set up a parks meeting for input. Next year we will continue building the parks, finish the water district projects and complete the Master Plan. That “vision” needs to be in place before we can turn our attention to the zoning issues. Once again and most importantly, I want to thank my family. They have had to endure a lot and I want them to know I love them and appreciate them. Sincerely, Sandy Leonard Monroe Town Supervisor
