To the editor: With all of my dealings with today's government and its bureaucratic processes, it is refreshing to have met Ms. Sandy Leonard, supervisor of the Town of Monroe. I had the opportunity recently to walk into her office to make an appointment for an elderly friend of mine living in Monroe who was in need of advice and assistance. Midst the buzz of activity, Ms. Leonard took the time out of her busy schedule to not only make the appointment, but to personally visit her. With gentleness and sensitivity, Ms. Leonard listened, defined the problem and laid out the best possible solutions. I felt a genuine interest on her part to help my 82-year-old friend. In addition, I was very impressed with Ms. Leonard's thorough technical knowledge of her town, county structure and also her understanding of the historical profile needed for this discussion. Sandy Leonard is an asset to her office, her government and her community. I am delighted and thankful to have met her. Yours truly, Joseph A. Lovett Monroe
