Last call for literacy volunteers

Middletown — A fall workshop will be conducted by Literacy Volunteers of Western Orange County on the weekend of Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 5 and 6, with Sunday morning off. An orientation will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 17, in Southwinds at 70 Fulton St. in Middletown. After ten hours of meeting time and several hours of home preparation, participants can become trained English tutors by Thanksgiving. Meals will be provided.
