Chester — The Chester Kiwanis Club is once again collecting new toys for their annual Toyland Project. The toys they receive will be made available to parents who cannot afford to purchase gifts for their children during this holiday season. This year they are also collecting gently used toys and clothing, which is new or like-new and clean. On Saturday, Dec. 11, between the hours of 10 a.m. and noon, at the Chester Learning Center, (the former Chester Junior-Senior High School) at the gym entrance located on Walnut St., parents may come to choose toys and clothing for each of their children at no charge. Gift wrapping will also be available, free of charge. Chester Kiwanis Toyland drop-off boxes are available for donations at the following locations, until Dec. 9: Banknorth, Chester Academy, Chester Elementary School, Chester Greenery And Gifts, Chester Public Library, Chester Village Police Station, Deli USA, Gervic Paints, Key Bank, Provident Bank and T.M.
