Karl and Lesser will provide open and honest government, not theater

To the editor: As a member of the audience at the village candidate question and answer forum the other night, I found Mr. Peifer’s comment regarding the metal structure that was supposed to be a movie theatre on Mill Pond Parkway very enlightening. He stated to the audience that he had been informed that the owner of the theatre had secured financing and was moving ahead with the theatre project. Everyone in the room was very surprised including the newspaper reporters. What I also found interesting was John Karl’s response. He was obviously surprised by this announcement. Mr. Karl looked at Mr. Peifer and said to him that this was the first he had heard of this change in status in regards to the movie theatre. He went on to state that as a village trustee he had not missed any meetings and was curious as to when and where this discussion regarding the theatre Mr. Peifer referred to took place. Mr. Peifer had no response. As a village resident listening to this exchange it seemed to me that this is part of the problem in the village. If we are going to have open and honest village government, we have to vote for John Karl and Charles Lesser. Sincerely, Jean McKeon Monroe
