John P. Burke, my dad,for Woodbury supervisor

To the editor: In 1969, my parents, John and Adrienne Burke, came to Woodbury to give a great life to their family. At that time, my dad gave much of his time to work at Nanuet High School. He dedicated his time to make that high school a great place and because of his leadership, the Nanuet community renamed the high school as the John P. Burke Building. While my dad was leading that school, he knew I was living and playing in a great place. In the summer, he knew I was enjoying the Central Valley Pond. He knew I was going to a great school district. He knew the water and air was clean for me and he knows that I want the same for my family. Since 1997, my dad has dedicated countless hours back to Woodbury. He has attended numerous zoning, planning and town board meetings. He knows that changing the five zoning laws will negatively affect our town. He knows that there will be a significant impact on our roads, traffic, air quality, town services, school taxes, etc. He knows I will not be able to afford huge tax increases. And, I know, my dad will help Woodbury remain as the town I know if he is elected as supervisor. Sincerely, Adrienne Fuchs Highland Mills
