Highlands, VA cemeteries get state funding

Cornwall-on-Hudson — State Sen. William J. Larkin Jr. (R-C, Cornwall-on-Hudson) has announced state funding for two local cemeteries. The Cemetery of the Highlands, in Highland Mills, will receive $22,000 toward the costs of building handicapped-accessible rest room facilities that would be open to the public. A $15,000 grant for the Orange County Veterans' Cemetery will be used to purchase a storage building for the backhoe, truck, and equipment associated with paving a designated area for additional parking.
