Helping families in need

Thanks to the hard work by Mark Morris to head up the golf outing, the Ambassadors who donate their time at the course all-season long, and the staff at The Golf Club at Mansion Ridge on Aug. 23 for the O.C. Veterans Food Pantry Benefit Golf Outing. It was a day filled with fun and great time, notwithstanding the rain, which did not put a damper on our efforts to raise funds for the families in need. Many thanks to State Assemblywoman Nancy Calhoun for attending and cheering everyone on for a “hole in one.” Ms. Calhoun is a supporter of the Orange County Veterans Affairs and Cemetery in Goshen. She has contributed to the O.C. Veterans Food Pantry more than $3,000 and has rallied for New York veterans benefits in Albany. Thanks also to Mr. Tony Zippo, from the Orange County Veterans Affairs Office in Goshen for attending and helping serve the golfers breakfast, so that they could endure their trials on the course. It was a day given to fun, but also a reminder that we need to help families in need in these troubled times. Angelo Lacarbonara Monroe
