TUXEDO — Tuxedo Park School honored Harrison van der Lee of Tuxedo Park with the A.V. Barber Plaque at his eighth grade graduation from Tuxedo Park School. The school’s faculty selects the Barber Plaque recipient as the graduating student who best displays “sportsmanship, high ideals, sense of honor, and spirit of service.” van der Lee achieved high effort honors all semesters this year, served as captain on the boys’ basketball team, and participated in several service projects. He also gave the salvete speech at graduation as the student who has been at Tuxedo Park School longer than any other student in the graduating class. His name will be engraved on the plaque next to the names of all the students who received the award since its establishment in 1942.
