Go-go legos at the library

MONROE-What can you build with a box of Legos? If you are a Monroe Free Library patron, you can obviously build anything. The creative ingenuity of our local kids was exhibited at the Monroe Free Library recently in the Annual Lego Contest. Kids used these plastic interlocking bricks to build fantastic spaceships, boats, and amazing scenes of adventure. Teen volunteers at the library's Summer Reading Program voted for their favorites of the seventeen entries. It was a difficult job, with so many colorful and imaginative structures. The lucky winners, who won more Legos, naturally, were Andrew Giarraputo, age nine, Monroe, and Robbie Frank, also age 9 from Monroe. Congratulations to the victors and thanks for bringing new excitement to the library at 44 Millpond Parkway.
