Fundraiser for Kemnitz's Assembly race set for July 28
Monroe - The Committee to Elect Myrna Kemnitz to the state Assembly will host a campaign inaugural on Wednesday, July 28, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Harness Racing Museum at 240 Main St. in Goshen. Kemnitz, the Democrat who represents parts of Monroe in the Orange County Legislature’s 7th district, looks to challenge incumbent Annie Rabbitt to represent the state 97th Assembly District. Rabbitt, R-C-Greenwood Lake, was elected in 2004. Kemnitz is a longtime New York City school educator and administrator; her husband, Dr. Thomas Nemnitz, president of Royal Fireworks Press, the world’s largest gifted education publisher, and chairman of the Monroe Town Democratic Committee.
