Fun nights in the snow

MONTGOMERY —Evening cross-country skiing and adult snow tubing will be offered by the Orange County Department of Parks at the Orange County Snow Tubing and Winter Sports Park in Montgomery. Beginning 7 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 22, two cross-country trails, one for beginners and one for intermediate skiers, will be illuminated by red flares through the fairways of the Stony Ford Golf Course to a bonfire marking the halfway point where hot chocolate will be served. The 1 1/2 hour run concludes at the lodge with drinks, hors d'oeuvres, and wine tasting. Participants must provide their own ski equipment. Cost is $16. Adult snow tubing will be 8 p.m., Friday, Jan. 14, and Feb. 18. The $25 fee includes 1 1/2 hours of tubing, two beverages, appetizers, bonfire at the bottom of the hill and rock-n-roll at the top.
