Former treasurer arrested for theft of Washingtonville Soccer Club funds

Washingtonville - State Police have charged a Washingtonville resident with stealing more than $61,000 from the Washingtonville Soccer Club when he was the club’s treasurer. Joseph A. Turcott, 45, was arrested March 2 and charged with second-degree grand larceny, a felony. The State Police in Montgomery conducted a year and a half long investigation into the Washingtonville Soccer Club. Turcott was the treasurer for the soccer club from 2005 through 2007. Police said during this time period Turcott stole approximately $61,645.68 from the club’s bank account. Turcott was arraigned in the Town of New Windsor Court and released on $2,000 bail to return in the town court on March 23.
