HARRIMAN - For the first time in recent memory, and just as the election season is winding up, a former president is visiting the area. President Bill Clinton is scheduled to appear at a “Get the Vote Out Rally” with U.S. Rep. John Hall tomorrow, Oct. 30, from 7 to 10 p.m. at the IBEW Local 363 on Commerce Drive South in Harriman. Clinton’s appearance with Hall, who is seeking re-election and running against Republican candidate Nan Hayworth for the 19th Congressional District seat, is intended to rally area residents and “get out the vote for Democrats up and down the ballot,” according to Melissa DeRosa, New York State director for Organizing for America, which is putting together the event. They’ll be joined by musical guests Joe Bouchard, Jon Pousette-Dart, and Larry Hoppen. Hall, in his younger days, was a member of the band Orleans. The trip to Harriman won’t take long. Clinton, as some might know, lives in Chappaqua in Westchester County; Hall lives in Dover. Organizers said everyone is welcome. The event is free. - Nancy Kriz
