Five people seek three seats on M-W School Board

    Central Valley - Five people filed petitions to run for the Monroe-Woodbury School Board in May. On May 17, voters will elect three people to three-year seats on the board. The candidates, in the order they will appear on the ballot, are: Wayne Chan, incumbent Jennifer Trumper, incumbent Eleni Kikiras Carter, incumbent Marilyn Prestia John MacDonald. Voting will take place from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Voters also will decide on a proposed 2011-12 spending proposal of more than $149 million, plus a second proposition to purchase 10 new school buses.
