Election postmortem in Monroe

To the editor: Would someone please be kind enough to inform Alicia Vaccaro, Audra Schwartz and John Rios that the election is over? I would hope when they realize this fact they’ll also stop their vindictive rants in this newspaper. Blaming others for their failure to unite all the people in Monroe is short-sighted. Any individual in this town who can read knows what the final election results meant. The Democrats would like to re-write history. Everyone in the town of Monroe outside of the village of Kiryas Joel knows that the Alliance is to the Democrats what Abe Wieder and the main group of Kiryas Joel is to the Republicans. I think the Democratic leadership - or what’s left of it - needs to decide how to “build bridges” with the 2,300 voters outside of the village of Kiryas Joel that voted for Savemonroe. What the Democrats and Republicans fail to realize is that equal and fair treatment also relates to the citizens outside of the village of Kiryas Joel. Terry D’Aiello Monroe
