Edelstein offers ‘leadership for longtime and new residents'

To the editor: Democrat Mike Edelstein is opposing incumbent Republican Ed Diana for county executive in November. Mike has lived in Orange County since 1975, in Warwick and now in Goshen, where he previously served on the town’s Environmental Review Board. For 25 years he has been president of Orange Environment Inc. as a voluntary leader, fighting to clean up our waterways and fix polluting sewage plants. Most important, Mike not only fought bad projects but he always advocated for finding ways to make other projects better because well-done developments greatly benefit our community and its now exploding population. He is a full professor with a doctorate in psychology, heading the college’s environmental studies program and is an internationally known expert on the effect of environmental contamination on people. I am a 45-year resident in Monroe. I say vote for Democrat Mike Edelstein. He has been here for us for years. Mike will continue to bring his governmental, environmental and professional experience to provide new leadership for long time and new residents. Mike will give new hope to keep our beautiful foothills, our vista views, our lakes from further degrading and to give our families open space as our county’s population surges. Sam Barash Monroe
