Eagle Scout helps make museum winter-ready

MONROE Ryan Winski on Aug. 6 insulated and sheetrocked the former Stoves Building at Museum for his Eagle Scout project. To accomplish his mission, Ryan, a 17-year-old entering his senior year at Goshen High School, needed to coordinate and supervise his team of recruits. Ryan and his team transformed the interior of the building into a year-'round exhibition space, aided by a grant from Bonded Logic for the Cotton Denim Insulation; a donation of lumber from John McLoughlin, the project's sponsor; and a donation of sheetrock from Dr. Frank Winski. Ryan undertook the project under the leadership of Scoutmaster Jeffery Albanese. "One of the goals of this museum is to be open 12 months a year," said Dr. Robert Schmick, director of museum operations. "And Ryan kick started this mission for us. Thanks to Ryan and his team. What a great job!" Ryan is the captain of his high school soccer team and holds a black belt in tae kwon do.
