Central Valley - Estrada Road in the town of Woodbury will be closed Friday afternoon as crews from the Metro North Railroad will work through the night to make bridge repairs. Woodbury Highway Superintendent Peter Stabile and John Shannon, Metro North’s supervisor of structures for the Port Jervis line, both emphasized that the inconvenience to area residents will be minimal. Shannon said he expected the road under the bridge to be completely closed for only several hours as workers replaced the first of two support beams. There will be a flag man on the crew to enable any emergency vehicles to make their way through if necessary. Both Stabile and Shannon said they expect the road to reopen Saturday. Crews will return in about two weeks to replace a second beam and other repairs. Again, it’s expected the work to be done quickly with a minimum of delays. The project is part of repairs to three bridges in Woodbury; work on the railroad bridge already has been completed.
