CENTRAL VALLEY - Tragedy struck the wrestling community as 16-year-old Monroe-Woodbury High School student Pat D'Aliso unexpectedly died Wednesday. "This is terrible," said a spokesperson from wrestlingplus.com. "We are all beside ourselves. Wrestling is a family and when we have one death in the family we are all affected." Just a sophomore, D'Aliso was only 19 wins away from the 100-win bench mark that defines high school wrestling immortality. D'Aliso captured the Section 9 crown in the 140-pound weight class earning a trip to the State Tournament. In February Kingston's Willis Freeman detoured D'Aliso's bid for a return trip to the state tournament with a victory in the 160-pound sectional finale. At press time no cause of death was announced.
