County to host foreclosure workshops on Jan. 28

    Goshen - Orange County will host a foreclosure workshop series, beginning on Friday, Jan. 28. The series is aimed at assisting county homeowners who are facing foreclosure. January’s workshop will be held by appointment only at the Orange-Ulster BOCES, 53 Gibson Road in Goshen, on Friday, Jan. 28 from 3 to 9 p.m. for those homeowners holding mortgages with HSBC, and then on Saturday, Jan. 29 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for those homeowners holding loans with GMAC. Registration is required to receive an appointment. To participate in the workshop, homeowners must register by calling the Orange County Rural Development Advisory Corporation, a co-sponsor of the series, at 524-4663, ext. 21, providing the name of their bank, and an appointment time will be scheduled. Those who arrive at their appointed time without the required paperwork listed below may be turned away. Note: there will be no photocopier at the workshop site. Homeowners are required to bring copies of the following documents: recent utility bills recent mortgage statements and/or correspondence from your mortgage lender last four consecutive pay stubs or income documentation for all employment, for all members in the household two most recent bank account statements for all bank accounts completed signed tax returns for 2008 and 2009. Future foreclosure workshops are being planned to include mortgage officers from other lending institutions, such as, Bank of America, American Home Mortgage Servicing, Inc.
