County electronics recycling program

    Goshen — The Orange County Department of Public Works is now accepting electronic equipment for recycling at the Orange County Transfer Stations. The program is offered free for Orange County residents. Acceptable items include: computers, lap tops, mainframe equipment, televisions, banking equipment, circuit boards, uninterrupted power supply (UPS) system, personal computers (CPU, monitor, keyboard, mouse, and peripherals), hard drive terminals, mainframe, pagers, network equipment, transparency makers, monitors, printers, modems, scanners, wiring boards, business machines and electronic scrap. The department cautions: this does not include household hazardous waste such as fluorescent light bulbs, which will be accepted at Household Hazardous Waste Collection events. Electronic recycling components will be received during normal operating hours from Monday through Saturday. For more information, call 291-2640.
