Cookies, soccer and world peace

Heather Eriksson of Central Valley has been selected to participate as a People to People Sports Ambassador in Holland this summer. As a sports ambassador, she will represent the United States playing soccer in an international tournament. The People to People programs, created in 1956 by President Dwight D. Eisenhower, promotes peace through international sports and academic activities. Because participants need to raise their own funds, Heather will be holding bake sales every Saturday in April, May and June from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at “The Cedar Chest,” 42 North Main St. in the Village of Florida.
