Conscience or votes'
To the editor: What is it about certain fragile individuals who instantly do a 180 on their past opinions when they decide to run for office - conscience or votes? Mr. Peifer, now running for mayor of the Village of Monroe, recently proffered a motion to eliminate health insurance for elected officials. Great idea, but before he declared his candidacy he voted against similar, more in-depth legislation that had been proposed by John Karl. He has done little over his tenure as trustee except go with the flow. He constantly rebuffs John Karl’s attempt to lower village expenses while improving services. Do your homework and discover how John Karl has tried to enhance your village since being elected trustee. Every vote counts. John Karl is willing to give a few years of his time for the betterment of your village. It takes less than fifteen minutes of yours to vote. Get out and Vote. Bob Purdy Monroe
