College to host women's entrepreneurship conference

    LOCH SHELDRAKE—Sullivan County Community College will host the second annual Women's Entrepreneurship Conference from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 20, at its Loch Sheldrake campus. The full-day event will open with a keynote address by Gwen Moran. Moran is a freelance writer who covers business management and marketing issues for such publications as Entrepreneur, MyBusiness, Family Business, WomensWallStreet.com, Small Business Computing, Home Office Computing, Across the Board, Office.com, and StartupJournal.com. She has also written two books, The Complete Idiot's Guide to Business Plans, and Build Your Own Home on a Shoestring. Previously, Moran owned Moran Marketing Associates, a marketing communications firm, for nearly a decade. She has been featured on CNBC, NBC, WOR, and News 12 New Jersey, as well as in publications such as the International Herald Tribune, Star-Ledger, Insight magazine, PR Week, Asbury Park Press, and Business News New Jersey. The conference will also include two sessions, "It's Not That Scary" for starting a business, and "Expansion: The Next Frontier" for moving to the next level of success. The day will conclude with a panel discussion, followed by a question and answer session. The fee is $30 if registered before Thursday, Sept. 29, $35 if registered before Thursday, Oct. 6, and $40 if registered before Thursday, Oct. 13.
