    Graduations The following local residents were among the 278 students who graduated from SUNY Oneonta following the fall 2010 semester. Graduates were honored at a December recognition ceremony hosted by College President Nancy Kleniewski and held in the Dewar Arena of the Alumni Field House: Katherine Ogut of Highland Mills earned a bachelor of science degree in geography. Samantha Schwartz of Tuxedo earned a bachelor of science degree in family and consumer sciences education. Dean’s list Lauren Alifano of Monroe has been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2010 semester at Dean College in Franklin, Mass. Robert Leiser of Monroe has been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2010 semester at Fitchburg State College in Fitchburg, Mass. To qualify, a student must earn a GPA of at least 3.2 for the semester. Bobby, a 2005 graduate of Monroe-Woodbury High School, is a junior at FSU. He also is a goalie for the Falcon’s ice hockey team. Carol Ann Chalupa of Monroe has been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2010 at SUNY Cortland. A graduate of Monroe-Woodbury High School, she lists math, physics and education as her college majors. Daniel Fugazot of Highland Mills was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2010 semester at SUNY Cortland. To qualify, a student must achieve a GPA of at least 3.30. The following local residents are among 1,507 students from SUNY Oneonta who earned dean’s list honors for the fall 2010 semester: Katherine Andreassi-Muserlian, a resident of Harriman. Jessica Martimucci, a resident of Highland Mills. Davis Meiley, a resident of Highland Mills. Katherine Ogut, a resident of Highland Mills. Andrea Seitz, a resident of Highland Mills. Marykate Kalotschke, a resident of Tuxedo. Katharine Capozzi, a resident of Tuxedo Park. Kristen Kasak, a resident of Tuxedo Park. To qualify for the dean’s list, undergraduate students must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher while carrying a course load of 12 semester hours or more. Awards, honors and scholarships Rhiel Samson from Harriman has been awarded the Presidential Scholarship at Elmira College. Elmira College awards in excess of $14.5 million in Honor Scholarships each year. Scholarships are awarded regardless of financial need and are renewable based on full-time status and continuous enrollment for three additional years with the appropriate grade point average. Annual tuition at Elmira College is $34,500.
