Children's learning center receives accreditation
GOSHEN Elant Kids-Children’s Learning Center recently achieved accreditation by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, a distinction in the field of childcare and early childhood education. The accreditation came after a rigorous evaluation by the association, which made its accreditation decision based on the center’s curriculum, health and safety policies, staff qualifications, student-teacher interaction, physical environment and other factors. The center is an affiliate of Elant, a community-based, not-for-profit organization that is a leading provider of services for children, older adults and chronically ill people of all ages. Priscilla Harrington, Elant Kids director, and her staff members spearheaded the accreditation effort with the support of Elant. The state-licensed childcare center sought the accreditation on a voluntary basis. The learning center features a multicultural and intergenerational environment. It offers age-appropriate curricula in a secure setting, for infants through Pre-K. The center is open weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. For more information, call 291-3738.
